PURPLE newborn hats

I’ve knit up 3 of these little hats before April 1st 🙂 The pattern is on my designs page. Pictured here, the center one is not flipped inside out. The hat looks great inside or out, just pay attention when weaving in your ends if you do plan to use it as reversible. Note that of course the pattern suggests to do a gauge swatch first to make sure you obtain proper gauge. However, this is a newborn hat, so the size of the swatch will be pretty darn close to what you need to make the hat itself anyway. Because it is ribbed it will stretch and fit a variety of shapes/sizes anyway AND the goal is to donate these, so what doesn’t fit one baby the hospital can probably give to another. My only word of caution is to make sure you have enough length. Newborn heads are incredibly large! Don’t be too tempted to make it short. This hat is already written as a beanie, adding too much length is better than too short because the brim could be folded up if its too long. I’ll be adding this as a freebie on Ravelry also, so I’d love it if you linked your project up on there so I can see what you come up with!
